Pointing Services
We use burnt sand and linseed oil mastic, which is the preferred choice for listed buildings and protected areas. As is the backing behind it, the old and loose mastic would be stripped from your frame. This is replaced by expanding foam that will gradually strengthen insulation. Not a lot of individuals know a lot about the points and the solutions open to them. Our craftsmen will be happy to take the time out to explore this service in greater detail when they come to us, addressing any questions you might have. Cill, Case & Rope Repairs
Over time, sash cords and pulls will wear out. If the cords break, the weights attached would slip to the bottom of the case, making it impossible to open the window. Sash cords may have been vulnerable to wear and tear over the years and need replacement. Sash windows are counterweighted to make it easier to use them. We will replace the old worn-out sash cord with two different thicknesses and lengths of high-grade cord that are sag resistant and abrasion resistant. For those of you with sash windows that are no longer functioning because they have cut or rotted the sash thread.
